Road Safety Authority

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the organisation responsible for improving road safety in Ireland. Its aim is to help reduce road collisions, prevent injuries, and save lives by promoting safe driving and responsible road use.

If you're learning to drive, the RSA is an important source of information. They oversee the Driver Theory Test, Essential Driver Training (EDT), the driving test, Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs), and publish the Rules of the Road. The RSA website also provides guidance for learner drivers, experienced motorists, and anyone using Ireland's roads safely.
