The EDT programme consists of 12 compulsory lessons required by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) for first-time learner permit holders.

At Signal2Drive, your first EDT lesson is completely free, with no package or commitment required. It gives you the opportunity to experience a lesson and make sure I’m the right instructor for you before deciding to continue.

If you choose to continue, the remaining 11 EDT lessons are €45 each, bringing the total cost of completing all 12 EDT lessons with Signal2Drive to €495.

Two-Hour Driving Lessons – €85

Following completion of EDT, driving lessons are two hours long. Longer lessons provide more continuous time behind the wheel, with less time lost to lesson introductions, changeovers and debriefs. This gives you more opportunity to practice, reinforce and consolidate new skills within the same session, helping you make meaningful progress with your driving.

Car Hire for Driving Test – €150

Use of the Signal2Drive car for your driving test, including full insurance cover and a 1 hour 15 minute pre-test lesson beforehand. This gives you time to settle in, warm up your driving, review any final points and arrive at the test centre feeling prepared and confident.

An EDT Logbook is compulsory and is available for €5. It is supplied at cost price with no markup and becomes the property of the student.

Please note: Every learner is different. Some people may need fewer lessons after EDT, while others may benefit from more. We'll always tailor your training to your individual progress and goals.
