The National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) Portal is the online system used in Ireland to manage most driving licence and learner permit services without having to visit an NDLS centre. It is operated by the NDLS on behalf of the Road Safety Authority.
Through the NDLS Portal you can:
- Apply for a first learner permit
- Apply for a first full driving licence after passing your driving test
- Renew a learner permit or driving licence
- Replace a lost, stolen, or damaged licence/permit
- Update personal details such as your address
- Add a new driving category
- Exchange a foreign driving licence for an Irish licence
- View and manage certain licence-related services online
To use the online portal, you generally need:
- A Public Services Card (PSC)
- A verified MyGovID account
- Any supporting documents required for your application (for example, eyesight reports, medical reports, proof of address, etc.)
